Nusa Penida is a small island located just South East of Bali. Small island, but big personality. From the wonderfully kind locals, to the amazing views, untouched beaches, and rugged roads. Nusa Penida is my favorite part of Bali, hands down.
I arrived on Nusa Penida with 3 Swedes in tow this time. These wonderful people made this location 1000X better. I don’t know how I would’ve gotten to all of these hidden gems on my own. We rented two scooters, doubled up, and said a prayer. Huge props to the boys for braving the sometimes awful roads and all of us coming out with no road rash!
We started early, about 5am, and here we goooooo:
Sunrise on the side of the road
Atuh Beach – we arrived here at about 7:30am and had the beach to ourselves for about 3 hours before anyone else showed up!
Angel’s Billabong – a natural infinity pool, like how is this real and formed by nature? Amazing
Broken Beach – there was a smudge on the GoPro, oops.
Kelingking Beach – view from the top
Kelingking Beach – the view from the bottom. I know what you’re thinking, “how tf did they get down there?!”. Let me tell ya, it was quite the hike/climb. But very much worth it
And finally, sunset on the side of the road
Nusa Penida is a hidden treasure that just begs you to explore it. I am so glad I was suggested by an acquaintance in Australia to go here and that I was joined by a lovely group of friends to make it so amazing.
